THE WEALTH VASE CONSECRATION PUJA -

THE WEALTH VASE CONSECRATION PUJA

Thursday 9th July 9.00-11.00AM

The tradition of the Wealth Treasure Vase is a very ancient and popular one. For centuries, many Tibetan families kept treasure vases in their homes homes. Some buried them in the ground and others placed them on the shrine. But this particular Treasure Vase must be kept on the shrine.

A Wealth Treasure Vase is filled with many precious jewels (such as gold, silver or copper), precious incense, precious mantras, precious grains, dharma medicines and herbs. It will be blessed through invoking all the power, energy strength, longevity and prosperity of the three realms and directing this into the Treasure Vase.

It is believed that the treasure vase:

  • Magnetises all beings with power of knowledge, psychic power amd power of wealth and directs this to its holder
  • Gathers and absorbs all power of superior wealth, prosperity and energy in human existence and Nirvana and directs this towards the benefit of the holder’s dharma practice as one would direct the flow of many streams into an ocean
  • Protects from fear of life and death
  • Strengthens karmic connections to eliminate obstacles to material gain and prosperity
  • Promotes peace and everts warfare in the world
  • Improves health and longevity
  • Increases wisdom and compassion

We are unbelievably fortunate to be able to bless and consecrate this treasure vase by such a great master as His Holiness Sakya Trizin. His Eminence Ratna Rinpoche and other sangha earlier of this year consecrated these ingredients for the treasure vases.

Attendance cost is $50

PARNASHAVARI EMPOWERMENT -

PARNASHAVARI EMPOWERMENT

Thursday 9 July, 7:30pm - 9:00pm

Associated with the mysterious Parnashavari tribe of ancient India, the Forest Goddess, Parnashavari, with three faces and six hands, wears a skirt and a garland of thatched green leaves. She is associated with jungle tribes and the practice of healing, particularly during contagious diseases. In the Himalayas and Tibet, when a large group of people congregate to receive extended religious teachings, it is common to first give the initiation and blessing for the Forest Goddess in order to stave off sickness.

The Forest Goddess is an example of an Indian folk deity absorbed into Tantric Buddhism. She is a popular practice and has numerous forms with varying emphases. For the practitioner of esoteric Buddhist meditation, the Forest Goddess is an emanation of the Buddha, and her special characteristic or metaphor is that of sickness and healing.

Attendance Cost is $70

Mahamudra Empowerment and Teaching -

MAHAMUDRA EMPOWERMENT AND TEACHING

Friday 10 July 2009, 10:00am – 5:00pm

Chenrezig, also known as Avaloketeshvara in Sanskrit is an emanation of a deity of the heart of Lord Buddha. This initiation is of the four-armed deity and conjoined with practice of Mahamudra. Mahamudra literally means Great Seal or the seal of profound emptiness. Therefore, this Chenrezig empowerment is regarded as being profound and powerful initiation in Sakya tradition. His Holiness has kindly accepted to give the initiation and blessing and also to provide a detailed explanation of the Mahamudra practice. Receiving this powerful Chenrezig initiation and profound teaching of Mahamudra from a very special and highly realised guru like His Holiness is very difficult to obtain and rarely given.

Attendees must receive this uncommon initiation on this morning to be eligible to receive the teachings that will be given in the afternnoon.

Attendance Cost is $150
