WHITE TARA EMPOWERMENT AND RETREAT 2nd - 4th OCTOBER 2010 -

For those of you who need advanced notice of up coming events please note that a retreat will be conducted in October over the long weekend.

       White Tara Retreat      2nd - 4th October 2010

White Tara Empowerment: Saturday 2nd October 2010

(Note: All are welcome to attend this long life empowerment as there is no prerequisite and it is advisable to be vegetarian on the day of empowerment)

White Arya Tara
Yidam - she who grants long life and wisdom

White Tara is an emanation of Tara who is connected with longevity and wisdom.

Also known as Drolkar (Tibetan) or Sitatara (Sanskrit), Tara embodies the compassionate activity of all the Buddhas (her name means "the liberator" or "one who saves").

White Tara has seven eyes, one in each hand and foot, and a third eye on her face to show that she sees and responds to suffering throughout the universe; using both ordinary and psychic or extraordinary means of perception. She sits in full lotus posture and wears the Bodhisattva ornaments.

One calls on White Tara for strength, and longevity, as she seems to help more with longer-term problems, particularly problems of physical or mental health.
If there is sickness then practising this daily is of utmost importance for improving our life force and removing obstacles.

The cost and scheduled times for the retreat will be forwarded at a later date.
